Paint Pens...

Four decks that belonged to me in Summer, 1989 (I may have more, too...)

From top to bottom: Blockhead Sam Cunningham, Schmitt Stix Bryce Kanights, Vision Mark Gonzales, another Schmitt Stix Bryce Kanights.

Schmitt Stix Bryce Kanights Models From 1988...

I'd give my right ventricle for these two boards...

Al Ward's Garage; 5711 Columbia Pike...

Al Ward's Garage wasn't too far from my house and as kids we used to sneak in through the woods in the back. We called it going on "adventures". There was a pretty huge salvage and junk yard in the rear of the lot. We just liked looking at the old wrecks from the 1930's and 40's. It was still there in 1991, but I'm not sure when it was torn down. There's a Kentucky Fried Chicken there now.

Channaher has some amazing NOVA/DC photos from over the years here:

The Broiler, 1965 and present...

Azar Atura grew up in the Bronx then moved to Arlington twice; once in 1954 then again in 1961. Pictured above is her sister in 1965 when the Broiler was still a Gulf gas station.

She's got some pretty amazing photos of 1960's Arlington on her website:
