Primal Urges...

I thought it was the coolest thing ever at one point...

Facebook Meme: Wikipedia Album Cover

I did this a while back when this meme was really going around. Not a lot of feedback, but one person did appreciate the Wiz sticker. Here's the instructions you were supposed to follow:

CREATE YOUR BAND NAME & ALBUM COVER:

To Do This

1 - Go to Wikipedia. Hit “random”or click en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:RandomThe first random Wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.
2 - Go to Quotations Page and select "random quotations"or click
www.quotationspage.com/random.php3The last four or five words of the very last quote on the page is the title of your first album.
3 - Go to Flickr and click on “explore the last seven days”or click
www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7daysThird picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.
4 - Use Photoshop or similar to put it all together.
5 - Post it to FB with this text in the "caption" or "comment" and TAG the friends you want to join in.

Old school 7-11's

Spending time loitering and eating nachos in the parking lots of 7-11's as a teenager made me a fan. That and the fact you can get a Coke Slurpee at 3 am. I found these old photos of a 7-11 from the 60's and it made me think that the Freedom Way Missionary Baptist Church on W Glebe and Commonwealth in Alexandria was at one time a 7-11. It's the only one in the area I know of that has the vertical sign connected to the building. Don't get me started...

Amazing...

This guy finds old packaging in landfills, estate sales and everywhere else. The Fla-Vor-Ice one is my favorite. His Flickr page is here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mankatt/

The Thats What She Said Department: Overheard: In Barnes And Noble

Girl to her friend: "Are you gonna read that or just stick it in there?"

Yes please...Craig Drake combines two of the best things from the 80's, Star Wars and Patrick Nagel's stylish posters

Overheard: In the 7-11

A construction worker type makes a bee line to one of the girls who works at the 7-11 across from Kenmore. I didn't catch the whole thing but what I did overhear was:

Construction worker type: "C'mon, in 'Merica we hug!"

Girl who works at the 7-11: "No... I don't like."
