A New Route

Today I took the 16 bus from Columbia Heights West (I hadn't been a passenger on Columbia Pike in Forever) to Pentagon City Metro then to Gallery Place / Chinatown. It's a short, but nice walk to work from there.

I'm totally ok with Columbia Pike being a little gritty. 

Mrs. Chen's Kitchen has changed very little since at least the 80's.

I like that the train is above ground, even for a few minutes.

This commute was definitely easier.

Bad Dates

I just found this the other night, completely forgot about this one. I think this was from November. Gotta love the DC dating scene.

Play like Roy Rogers and sloooooow down...

Before there was a McDonald's on every corner in NoVa, there was Roy Rogers. There are still a few around, but you're going to have to drive for a bit.

The Broiler, 1965 and present...

Azar Atura grew up in the Bronx then moved to Arlington twice; once in 1954 then again in 1961. Pictured above is her sister in 1965 when the Broiler was still a Gulf gas station.
